Afterglow
There may be evolutionary reasons why flowers are so appealing, but they seem so extravagant, so beautiful beyond what is necessary. The images in Afterglow had their beginning as lumen prints, a photographic process dating back to the 1830s. Using double-exposures, I created an ethereal back ground where boundaries start to dissolve. The form of the flower expands to become a glowing version of itself, as if reaching out beyond what we can see.
